Zoo-pervised or Unsupervised?
Captivity, conservation, and the great outdoors

Introduction

This website was created as a project for RNR 4107, Human Dimensions in Natural Resources at Louisiana State University. The goal of this project is to explore the diverse perspectives people hold about zoos and compare these views with other forms of ecotourism. By examining these options, we aim to better understand how personal experiences, accessibility, and individual values shape people's choices on where they invest their time, money, and effort. Overall, our project seeks to examine the role that zoos and alternative ecotourism activities play in connecting people with nature and conservation.
